Krista Brown
Dr. Krista E. Brown is the Clinical Psychologist at the IBD Centre of BC, providing psychological services to patients with IBD and co-morbid mental/behavioural health concerns. She received an M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UHM). She has provided individual, group, and family therapy to individuals across diverse settings (e.g., Juvenile Drug Court, primary care/integrated behavioral health clinics, outpatient mental health centers, and schools), taught courses at the University-level, and supervised graduate students, school-based substance use treatment staff, and high school student peer leaders delivering evidence-based prevention programs. Dr. Brown has provided over 70 peer-reviewed conference presentations and/or invited clinical workshops and has published 17 journal articles and 2 book chapters. She has been trained in the delivery of Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for mood, anxiety, and eating disorders.
